171 - Kiss Me Mi Amor by Alana Quintana Albertson

Book two of the Love & Tacos takes us on a love journey with Montez brother number two, Enrique. After the heirs of the Taco King empire have a falling out with their father (check out episode 145!), the brothers are finding positive and progressive ways to grow their business and reconnect with their Mexican roots. Enrique does so by reaching out to one of very few Latina farm owners, Carolina Flores, to learn more about her farm and possibly becoming business partners. Not to mention she is amazingly stunning and he is not so bad himself. But Carolina is busy running her farm and battling her own problems with a sick, old-fashioned father who has strict dating rules when it comes to his 10 daughters. She doesn't have time for, nor does she want anything to do with, a spoiled, rich Montez brother, who doesn’t understand the importance of not only running a farm, but also taking good care of its workers. Carolina soon finds out that maybe Enrique isn’t as bad as she thought and that these feelings she’s never experienced before might be okay to feel, even if her father doesn’t approve of her and Enrique dating. She soon finds herself fighting against her father’s authority and what she truly feels in her heart.

164 - 10 Things that Never Happened by Alexis Hall

Samwise (yup, that’s his name) and his boss, Jonathan, don’t see eye-to-eye about how Sam manages one of Jonathan’s stores. But things take a turn after Sam feigns amnesia after hitting his head on a bathroom display after Jonathan fires him after a disagreement. Not wanting to be sued, Jonathan invites Sam to stay with him until he is fully recovered from his concussion, or until he can start remembering. But Jonathan doesn’t know that Sam really doesn’t have amnesia, not in the least. What starts off as a contentious relationship between two men who have hurtful pasts, turns into a beautiful pairing of two people who need each other to move forward. While this paragraph seems super serious, this book is hilarious and fun with its quick quips and amazing narration. Listen along as we fall into so many different emotions with Sam and Jonathan.
