164 - 10 Things that Never Happened by Alexis Hall

Samwise (yup, that’s his name) and his boss, Jonathan, don’t see eye-to-eye about how Sam manages one of Jonathan’s stores. But things take a turn after Sam feigns amnesia after hitting his head on a bathroom display after Jonathan fires him after a disagreement. Not wanting to be sued, Jonathan invites Sam to stay with him until he is fully recovered from his concussion, or until he can start remembering. But Jonathan doesn’t know that Sam really doesn’t have amnesia, not in the least. What starts off as a contentious relationship between two men who have hurtful pasts, turns into a beautiful pairing of two people who need each other to move forward. While this paragraph seems super serious, this book is hilarious and fun with its quick quips and amazing narration. Listen along as we fall into so many different emotions with Sam and Jonathan.

They work alone but after a not so cute meet-cute, they agree to meet for an annual game to catch and kill a bad guy of their choosing anywhere in the states. But of course this is not without a little flirtation and sexual attraction to come along with all the blood and gore. After a few years of denial, close calls (with sex and murder), and over-the-phone cooking classes, Sloane can longer deny her feelings for this hot-ass Irishman, and Rowan will do anything to keep her alive. WARNING: this book is HOT as FUCK!

Book two of the Hearth Motel series by Holley Trent stars Dasha, a human who is recovering from a very bad relationship, and motorcycle-riding shifter fae, Ethan, who is itching to show Dasha how much he loves her already, even though this the second time they’ve met. But don’t worry, it’s because they are mates, not because he is super creepy or anything. Jumping back into this series made us remember how much we enjoyed these stories. The sex is good, the characters are fun, and the storyline (so much story!) is captivating. Listen along as we talk about Dasha’s journey of learning how to love again and how Ethan learns the true meaning of saying ‘good things come to those who wait’. And uh, let’s not forget that squishy times are shared with fae partners, maybe not always physically, but there’s always one other fae around to witness the fun.
