135 - Big Bad Wolf by Suleika Snyder

This is a different type of book for us, more of a paranormal urban fantasy romance. And we loved it! We loved this alternate reality world where shifters and paranormals were exposed following the unfortunate election of a certain president and now the world is struggling to deal with the results of that revelation. We have Joe, a shifter who was caught murdering mobsters and is not on trial for his life and Neha, his lawyer who is trying to defend him. When they first meet the attraction takes them both by surprise and as they navigate the dangerous underground world of shifter mobsters they fall deeper for each other. The sex is intense from the very beginning and the action is explosive. This book is different but fun and we are excited to read more by Suleikha Snyder.

134 - Obsession: The Mate Games - Kim Loraine & Meg Anne

We are excited to try out a new Reverse Harem book and one written by Kim Loraine who we know brings the hot steamy scenes. We are introduced to Sunday Fallon, a wolf shifter and heir to a major wolf pack, with one small problem, she can’t shift. She is shipped off to a supernatural university type school where the best and brightest go to train and learn supernatural statecraft. What does Sunday learn? That she is infatuated with and possibly loves not one not two not three, but four super hot and powerful paranormal men. The naughty priest scenes with Caleb are tantalizing and the push pull with Kingston ratchets up the tension. This book has a ton of hot scenes, including some of our favorite: voyeurism.

It has been a few years but we finally are getting back to a book by Lisa Manifold. This first book in the Oracle of Wynter series gives us another main character in her 40’s similar to the Betwixt series and the Midlife Bounty Hunter series. We compare the different and similar ways all three series approach writing about a woman in her 40’s getting a new start in life. We don’t get the sexy times we love but it does feel like the groundwork has been set for us to get some pretty great sex scenes in future books! And what is more fun than hoping for a random hook up at a bar and ending up with a supernatural calling?

130 - Black Witch Magic by Mila Nicks

This book is a fun and unusual romance novel. On the surface, this book reads more like a typical murder mystery as Selene and Aiden investigate the current unexplained attack in Brimrock and its potential connection to an unsolved murder from the past. But as they work together to finger out what is going on they also begin a budding romance. This book is totally a slow burn as we get all the early stages of a new relationship from coffee dates to drunken frolics in the snow. Unusual for a romance, we even get a super awkward disappointing sex scene. Don’t worry, as the murder mystery wraps up and the unexplained supernatural occurrences are solved, Aiden and Selene give it another chance and both finally get their sexy fireworks. It was fun reading such a different approach to the paranormal rom-com genre.

129 - Seduced by Moonlight by Kenya Wright

This book is HOT. Aiden is the alpha of a wolfpack trying to find a safe place to settle down and move on from the supernatural wars that have left magical creature populations decimated. This is the first book in the Bound Beyond Blood series by AK Graves and a super fun introduction to this world and this author. We loved these giant cinnamon roll Dragon Shifters, especially Kai. After fleeing their homeland when attacked by a rival dragon clan and losing much of their family Kai and his 3 brothers expect to lay low in the sleep mountain community in the Pacific Northwest. Surprise surprise when all 4 find their fated mates among the women in town and uncover a larger lot by their enemy Cyril. This story includes found family, insta-love, cinnamon roll heroes, and all the steamy scenes we could want! Don’t miss the final steamy scene, and our favorite, the “why doesn’t every dragon shifter book include this” dragon hoard sex scene.

127- Shades of Wicked by Jeaniene Frost

This is our favorite Jeaniene Frost book yet! We cannot get enough of Ian and Veritas. This couple is seriously too hot to handle. We love all the tropes in this book: fake relationship, lost memories, false public persona, past trauma, and secrets! It is so nice to have two equally strong bad ass paranormals as the main characters. Veritas doesn’t need to be brought up to speed on the whole vampire/supernatural thing. And she can give as good as In when it comes to kicking ass. Their sex is literally an explosive force that destroys their physical surroundings. Ian is the sexy debauched vampire I want to spend a smutty month with! And drunk Veritas is my kindred spirit! We can’t wait to continue their story in the next 2 books.

126 - Unhinged by Helen Hardt

It has been a while but we finally return to the Blood Bond Saga by Helen Hardt for Dante and Erin’s story. This whole book is a battle between logic and emotion, head versus heart, closely held beliefs against newly discovered information. Erin wants to accept Dante for everything he is but her heart and logic keep getting in the way, I mean vampires can’t be real right?!?!? There are some tough themes in this book, torture and abuse, lying by omission, using glamor to ‘protect’ someone from their own emotions. Dante and Erin have a lot to overcome as the series continues. One thing we can say, Helen doesn’t hold back on the sex in these books. The steamy scenes are plenty and very hot. Even with the vampires and werewolves and ghosts, the illogical way both Erin and Dante were acting during this honeymoon stage of their relationship is totally relatable.
