Apparently, sheriffs love doing that! Join us for Spellbound in Salem, book one in the Casters and Claws series by Milly Taiden. Here we meet Raven Bishop, a descendant of the witches burned during the Salem witch trials, and yes, she is a witch. Raven meets sexy Sheriff Zane Cross, wolf shifter, when he tries to tell her that she and her family are being hunted by weirdos, who, for some reason, are stirring shit up again that happened over 300 years ago… hey bad guys, find a different hobby. It takes a while for Raven to get used to the idea of being hunted but eventually, she lets Sheriff Sexy Guy save her. We hope you read along!

76 - Jinn: Djinn Rebellion by Jessica Cage

The world has been turned upside-down by the emergence of the supernatural beings and the fall of humans.  Jinn was the original Djinn set free and has chosen to not take side in this new world divided by different magical factions.  Until he hears that his wife, who he thought dead for centuries, is actually alive and being held hostage.  He quickly gathers an odd collection of friends to help him find and rescue Nitara.  But is it too late?  This book has some beautiful lessons about tolerance and judging those you have an imperfect knowledge of.  The different supernatural beings Jinn gathers on his quest are forced to learn more about each other and the inequities that still exist in their world.  In the end, this was a unique book for us because instead of a meet-cute and a relationship building overtime we get a man hunting for his long lost love.  While we don’t get the sexy times we like, it was still interesting to explore a different type of paranormal romance book.  Heads up, it ends on a cliffhanger and makes you want to read the next book right away.

75 - Badger to the Bone by Shelly Laurenston

In this third book of the Honey Badger series we get Max’s story.  While escaping from a kidnapping she finds a sexy man who doesn’t seem to know he is a shifter.  After basically kidnapping him and bringing him home she tries to help Ze understand this new world he finds himself a part of.  Ze has to work through finding out he is a panther shifter and all the emotions he is developing for Max.  Meanwhile Max has all kinds of family things going on and is also trying to deal with her own feelings.  There are deep treads of family, self discovery, and being happy with yourself.  As always, we love the relationships built between the characters and how well both Max and Ze support each other.  The book was a good follow up to the first 2 and we always love visiting this world created by Shelly.

74 - All I Want For Christmas is a Vampire by Kerrelyn Sparks

We picked this book for our Christmas episode and were so happy to find an old friend.  The story and plot reminded us of the first books we ever read in this genre and why we fell in love with paranormal romance in the first place.  Ian, a 700 year old vampire is looking for his true love.  He thinks he wants a vampire so they can start out on a true equal and honest footing.  But he can’t get the new human security guard Toni out of his head.  Toni thinks she hates vamps and is just looking to prove their existence to help her friend, but seeing the kind and generous family they have created brings her pause.  Ian’s dogged persistence also starts to crack her walls.  The sex scenes are so real and so fun they make our hearts sing.  Who is up for some sexy dracula roleplaying?!  This book was a breath of fresh air in a genre dominated by books where the fate of the world is at stake, we loved just reading about a couple finding love even though one is a vampire.

73 - Deal with her Dragon by Ruby Sirois

Emilie has moved past her painful marriage and is throwing everything she has into her business.  When that business starts to fail she takes drastic measures and calls upon a dragon, Ragnarr, to help save it.  Ragnarr has spent centuries nursing his hatred for witches but when Emilie calls upon him things start to change.  They both feel a strong attraction but can they work through their past baggage to make it work?  This book was so sexy and hot we couldn’t put it down.  The intimate scenes between Emilie and Ragnarr were so thoughtfully and beautifully written.  This book delivers all the sexy squishees and we loved it.  It had everything, romance, sex, action, a hilarious familiar, and an awesome witch/woman run meadery.  We would love to visit this world and get to know both the witches and dragons, even the uncircumcised ones.

72 - Supernatural Inmate by Avery Song and Veronica Agnus

I guess we shouldn’t have been surprised that this romance novel set in a supernatural prison turned out to be a reverse harem but we were!  Pleasantly surprised that is.  Cassandra grew up with her bros, all of whom were orphans like her.  Unlike her, they are supernaturals and she is a regular human, or is she?  Caught up in a kidnapping ring and locked away in a prison, Cassandra finally has to face the things she has been afraid of change and the potential for loss.  But she also grows and realizes the strength she always had within herself.  Her budding romantic relationships with her 4 bros are just getting started and we can’t wait for more in future books.  We discuss how scary change is but how beneficial it can be.  As is our routine with reverse harems we each pick our favorite of the guys.

71 - Siren Misfit by EveLanglais

We return to the Misfit Series by Eve Langlais.  This is the second book and focuses on the romance between part-siren/part-mermaid Lana and demigod Jory.  Initially there is not much to bring these two together, beyond their love of donuts and coffee.  But things heat up as Jory accompanies Lana to discover more about her mysterious origins.  We can’t get enough of the hot oral action Jory bestows upon Lana.  The plane scene goes from super hot to super scary when a kraken appears!  While this was not our favorite book by Eve or even favorite of the Misfit books, it was still fun.  Eve’s trademarked humor is sprinkled throughout and it ends with more donuts, coffee, and cunilingus, who could complain!
